Cambridge Summer Classic 5K

On Sunday I ran my first 5K race at the Cambridge Summer Classic. I’ve never been especially athletic (and I’m still not), but I started running very intermittently a few years back and I’d been meaning to try a timed race.

Me, Jenny, and a couple friends all registered a couple months ago as a way to scare ourselves into training for it. It worked—we all finished! I got a time of 28:07, which put me right in the middle of the pack.

I’m really pleased with how well that “register for a race to force yourself to train” approach worked, so now I’m shopping around for a good 10K in a couple months’ time…
